AOII's national philanthropy is Arthritis Research and each year the Chi Psi Chapter of AOII raises over 4,000 dollars for this cause!  Our second national philanthropy is Breast Cancer. Through our fundraising efforts and involvement in the local community, AOII dedicates its time and money to these important causes.

Every year, our chapter puts on the pageant-like Mr. Fraternity contest. The proceeds from this event go to the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation, which supports Arthritis Research grants, education grants, and scholarships. The event is held yearly at The Graduate in San Luis Obispo with over 700 members of the Cal Poly community present. All Interfraternity Council (IFC) Fraternities are represented by outstanding members who compete in three categories: talent, sportswear, and formal wear. With some help from their AOII coaches, these men compete for the prestigious Mr. Fraternity crown and title for that year. The following are past winners:

A little about our primary philanthropy...

    • 41 million of those affected are women.
    • For every 4 people affected by the most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis, 3 are women.
    • For every 10 people who have lupus, 9 are women.

How can you help prevent arthritis?
    • Maintain a well-balanced and healthy diet.
    • Make sure you get your vitamins.
    • Create and do a regular exercise routine.
    • Contribute to AOII's philanthropy, of course!
